Manual Circular Knife Positioning System Type Dienes Module II-L equipped with Pneumatic Knife Holders and Laser Sensors
Dienes' manual laser positioning system is ideally suited for production activities requiring several daily setups. At an economical cost, this system quickly and accurately locates both top and bottom knives. Setup times are greatly reduced making slitting operations more productive and competitive. Setup errors are virtually eliminated.
Mounted between the existing side frames of your slitter, the positioning equipment is composed of a rigid horizontal cross member equipped with front and rear linear guide bearings, a combination digital linear scale and laser positioning carriage, and Dienes' high precision shear cut knife holders. Linear bearings ensure a smooth and precise movement.
Clamping of both the top and bottom knives are accomplished without using any tools. Readouts are clear and simple. No special training or skills is required.
System Operation
Precise Knife Positioning - is achieved by simply turning a hand wheel until the desired dimensional value is displayed on the control panel. Carriage containing laser, position sensor and top holder locator is then locked in place. Top holder is moved to locator and locked without tools. Bottom knife is moved into position. Laser indicates direction of movement needed. A large green light indicates slit edge is in position shown on digital display. Locking of bottom knife may be by air shaft, set screw or eccentric lock. Now ready for the next slit width. Total time per cut is approximately 30 seconds.
Laser Accuracy - provides proper alignment of both knife holder and bottom knife.
User Friendly - system control panel displays a green indicator light when the precise positioning of the cutting edge is achieved. Display can be switched from millimeters to inches. Positions may be reset to zero after setting each knife pair or can accumulate from a home zero position.
Modular Compatibility - can be used with any Dienes shear cut knife holder assembly required by your process. Over 200 high precision knife designs can be utilized to optimize your particular needs.
Custom Built Cross Member Assembly - to accomodate maximum web width desired. Mountings to machine side frames or free standing floor models possible.
Positive bottom knife edge location without contacting or damaging knife edge.
